Round 1 Wildcard Prelims
Thursday May 21st, 2009. Second Band
Break approx 11:30 pm.
Contest format: Depending on size of
field, 3-4 heats in All-skate format. Each heat will dance three songs
at medium and fast tempos. The top 2-3 couples from the Wildcard round
will advance to Friday’s Round 2.
180 – 200+ bpms
Round 2 Semi-finals
Friday May 22nd, 2009. Approx 12:00am.
Semi Finals will consist of Top 2-3 couples from Wildcard Rounds + invitational
contestants. Invitational contestants are selected by an advisory panel
of Frankie 95 judges and do not have to compete in the Wild card round.
Contest format: Three heats with couples
dancing in a Spotlight format. Each couple will dance a 45 second spotlight
and each heat will dance a brief all skate. One final All skate with
all couples, will be danced to live music.
180 – 200+ bpms
Finals
Saturday May 23rd, 2009. Approx.9:30pm.
Final-5-7 couples selected from Semi-finals
Contest format: Each couple will dance
eight 8’s in Jam format to live band (each song will get progressively
faster) followed by All Skate. The Finals will be judged by Legends
of the Lindy Hop.

Prelims
Friday May 22nd, 2009 3:30pm.
Location: Central Park
One large Heat, couples will dance for
5-6 songs and judged individually. Top 30 leads and 30 follows will
move on to Semi-Finals.
Semi Finals
Competitors Meeting Sunday 5:30pm
Sunday May 24th, 2009. Approx. 9:30pm. Two heats of 15 couples.
Each heat will dance three songs to slow, medium and fast tempos. Possible
All Skate with all dancers may be necessary. Judges will select 5-7
couples for final.
Finals
Sunday May 24th, 2009. Second
Band break approx. 12:30am.
Final: 5-7 couples randomly paired dancing
to live music provided by BMJB and/or JSC5. Couples will dance in jam
format and be judged as a couple. Couples will dance full chorus. Song
selections will be varied tempos selected by band. Audience will decide
winner.
