Hammerstein Ballroom

The 12,000 square foot Hammerstein Ballroom at Manhattan Center Studios is an elegant pre-war ballroom featuring a hand-painted ceiling mural, ornate woodwork and three balconies overlooking the main room and stage. The 75 foot high ceiling holds many rigging points for production décor and lighting options. Ties to the in-house audio recording studios and video control rooms make the space an incredible venue for productions, special events and webcasts by merging its theatrical past with modern technology. The space accommodates up to 2,500 people for receptions and theatrical productions and 1,000 people for a seated dinner.

 

 

Grand Ballroom

The Grand Ballroom at Manhattan Center Studios blends elegant ambiance with cutting edge modern technology. With a capacity of 1,200 for theater-style seating and 550 for seated dinners, this 10,000 square foot space is perfect for a theatrical production or formal banquet. The 40 foot high ceiling features plenty of rigging points for your production décor and lighting needs. With a direct link to Manhattan Center Productions’ Studio 7 and an in-house video control room, all of your audio-visual needs are easily achievable. The connection of The Grand Ballroom to the recording studios, coupled with the room’s superior acoustics makes it an attractive venue for large scale music recording. Past performers recorded in The Grand Ballroom include Luciano Pavarotti, Dave Matthews and Emmylou Harris. Additionally, Elliot Goldenthal’s 2003 Academy Award winning film score for Frida was also tracked at Manhattan Center Studios.

 

Public Transportation to the Grand Ballroom and Hammerstein Ballroom:

Manhattan Center is conveniently located near Penn Station, the Port Authority Bus Terminal and New York Waterways Ferry Terminal. The New York City Subway's A,C, and E lines stop at 34th Street and 8th Avenue and the 1, 2, 3, and 9 lines stop at 34th Street and 7th Avenue.
